“Mind-Reading” Machines

چکیده

How do we know how the brain works? Doctors cannot open skull like a jar of candy and close lid afterward… or can they? In fact, putting electrical wires into human brains has been safely performed for many years. These devices, termed brain-machine interfaces, help doctors scientists record signals from brain, to tell them interacts with world. Researchers are using this technique improve quality paralyzed patients’ lives build brain-controlled game prototypes. Though powerful, interfaces still face challenges. Does sound field that you might want pursue? Keep reading find out more!

Mind-reading machines: automated inference of complex mental states

People express their mental states all the time, even when interacting with machines. These mental states shape the decisions that we make, govern how we communicate with others, and affect our performance. The ability to attribute mental states to others from their behaviour, and to use that knowledge to guide one’s own actions and predict those of others is known as theory of mind or mind-rea...

Mind Reading

If a baby starts to cry several hours after drinking his last bottle, his mother knows precisely what he's feeling: He's hungry. But suppose a woman's eyes brim with tears while she watches a DVD. Her husband sinks into the couch: What is she so upset about? She might tell him directly: "This movie is so tragic. It's all about a doomed romance." That may be true. But she could be thinking about...

Reading the Generalizer's Mind

In his new commentary, Damper re-emphasises his claim that parity is not a generalisation problem. But when proper account is taken of the arguments he puts forward, we nd that the proposed conclusion is not the only one that can be drawn. In adding the word`still' to the title of his ongoing commentary, Damper re-emphasises his claim that`parity is not a generalisation problem.' His view is th...

Reading What Machines "Think"

In this paper, we want to farther advance the parallelism between models of the brain and computing machines. We want to apply the same idea underlying neuroimaging techniques to electronic computers. Applying this parallelism, we can address these two questions: (1) how far we can go with neuroimaging in understanding human mind? (foundational perspective); (2) can we understand what computers...
